Meeting of the Coordination and Methodological Council on Scientific Research Program 25 "Plant Genetic Resources"

On July 7, 2026, the Yuriev Plant Production Institute of NAAS hosted an online meeting of the Coordination and Methodological Council for the first half of 2026 within the framework of National Scientific Research Program (SRP) 25 "Formation, Use, and Preservation of Plant Genetic Resources" ("Plant Genetic Resources"). During the meeting, Oleh Tryhub, Deputy Director for Research at Ustymivka Experimental Station of Plant Production of the Yuriev Plant Production Institute of NAAS, delivered a scientific presentation titled "Formation of Cereal Collections at Ustymivka Experimental Station of Plant Production and Their Long-Term Preservation." Dr. Viktor Riabchun, Head of Research Program 25 "Plant Genetic Resources," reported on the implementation of research projects for the first half of 2026. Special emphasis was placed on plant introduction, identification of valuable trait sources, registration of accessions and collections, and long-term seed storage of genebank accessions. Oleh Klym, Head of the Duplicate Center, reported on establishing seed storage operations in the western region of Ukraine.
