Field Meeting of the Council of the North-Eastern Scientific Center of the NAS and MES of Ukraine

On December 22, 2025, the Acting Director of the Yuriev Plant Production Institute of NAAS, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Oleh Leonov, participated in a field meeting of the Council of the North-Eastern Scientific Center of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science (MES) of Ukraine, held at Sumy National Agrarian University.

The theme of the meeting, "Work of Scientific Institutions and Higher Education Establishments of the Slobozhanshchyna Region under Current Conditions: Status and Prospects (Sumy Region Case Study)," focused on highlighting key challenges and strategic opportunities for the development of science and education under martial law.

The participants discussed issues regarding the preservation and enhancement of scientific potential, the integration of education, science, and innovation, and the role of regional scientific centers in forming a resilient and competitive state. Special attention was paid to maintaining the continuity of educational and scientific processes, developing international cooperation, involving universities in European programs, and strengthening the role of science in regional recovery.

In conclusion, the participants noted the importance of consolidating the efforts of science, education, and the state to ensure the sustainable development of both the region and the country as a whole. A series of recommendations were proposed to support the scientific sector, develop innovation clusters, and enhance interaction between universities, research institutions, government authorities, and the business community.
