WORKING MEETING OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE PLANT PRODUCTION INSTITUTE NAMED AFTER VYA YURIEV OF NAAS AND UKRAVIT LLC

On May 31, 2022, a working meeting of representatives of the Plant Production Institute named after V.Ya. Yuriev of NAAS and UKRAVIT LLC was held.

Acting Director of the Plant Production Institute named after V.Ya. Yuriev of NAAS, Kuzmyshyna N.V.; Deputy Director for Research, Production and Economic Activities of the Institute, Ohurtsov Yu.Ye.; Chief Researcher of UKRAVIT, LLC, Avramenko S.V.; and Directors of the regional trade mission of the LLC, Danchenko A.Yu. and Baranov A.M., participated in the meeting.

At the meeting, the successful long-term cooperation in research and events between the Plant Production Institute named after V.Ya. Yuriev of NAAS, one of the leading domestic research institutions in crop production, and UKRAVIT, LLC, a leading Ukrainian manufacturer of chemicals for chemical protection of crops, was highlighted. The cooperation contributed to the creation and dissemination of domestic scientific achievements.

During the meeting, further cooperation lines were discussed; challenges of material and technical support of the Institute's research programs, which resulted from the military emergency situation caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, to be exact, combat operations in the Kharkivska Oblast, were noted.

To date, significant damage to the material and technical basis of the Institute and limited consumables and resources put obstacles in the way of field work. It was stressed that the successful completion of fundamental and applied projects by domestic crop production research institutions (in plant genetic resources, breeding and seed production of varieties and hybrids of field crops, and development of cultivation technologies) is extremely important for the agrarian sector of Ukraine.

Given the topicality of the investigations and the need to solve urgent problems for their conduction, UKRAVIT, LLC, after consultation with the governing body of the LLC, offered financial support for investigations conducted by the Plant Production Institute named after V.Ya. Yuriev of NAAS.

The Plant Production Institute named after V.Ya. Yuriev of NAAS is very grateful to UKRAVIT, LLC, and personally to its Director, Ilchenko V.V., for understanding and support in difficult times for Ukrainian science. We are confident that the development of our cooperation will ensure significant scientific achievements!
