ROUND TABLE DEDICATED TO THE 90TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF IRYNA ANATOLIIVNA HURIEVA
On August 2, 2023, the Plant Production Institute (PPI) named after V.Ya. Yuriev of NAAS held a round table dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of an outstanding scientist in plant genetic resources: Iryna Anatoliivna Hurieva. The event was attended by PII employees and representatives of the Plant Production Department of NAAS and Ustymivka Experimental Station of Plant Production of PPI NAAS. At the round table, the following talks were given: " Iryna Anatoliivna Hurieva’s Life and Scientific Path", speaker - Candidate of Historical Sciences V.M. Ozherelieva; "Formation and Management of the National Collection of Corn Genetic Resources", speaker - Candidate of Agricultural Sciences N.V. Kuzmyshyna; and " I.A. Hurieva’s Role as a Theoretician and Practitioner in Corn Breeding in Ukraine", speaker - Candidate of Agricultural Sciences O.V. Sikalova. NAAS Academicians P.V. Kondratenko and V.V. Kyrychenko, Doctors of Agricultural Sciences O.Yu. Leonov, V.P. Kolomatska, N.I. Riabchun, and K.M. Makliak, Candidates of Biological Sciences V.K. Riabchun and O.V. Bilynska, Candidate of Economic Sciences V.M. Suchkova, Candidates of Agricultural Sciences O.M. Bezuhla, N.M. Muzafarov, I.P. Barsukov, S.H. Ponurenko, Yu.V. Kharchenko, and O.V. Tryhub, scientists S.M. Vakulenko, L.Ya. Kharchenko, N.V. Tertyshna, and O.V. Antsyferova participated in the discussion. T.P. Kamyshan, V.P. Stepanova and V.M. Kuprikova, who had worked with Iryna Anatoliivna for a long time, attended the event.
