FIELD DAY "BREEDING INNOVATIONS IN VEGETABLE AND MELON GROWING"

On August 19, 2021, the Academic Secretary of the Plant Production Institute named after V.Ya. Yuriev of NAAS, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Oksana Mykolaiivna Shabetia took part in the Field Day "Breeding Innovations in Vegetable and Melon Growing", which was held at the demonstration site of the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of NAAS. The field day was attended by regional authorities, heads and specialists of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Regional State Administration, USAID AGRO Regional Coordinator, Coordinator of the project “Production Efficiency in the Fruit and Vegetable Sector”, heads and specialists of agrarian enterprises of various forms of ownership, representatives of higher education and research institutions.

The main achievements in the breeding of vegetables, melons and underutilized crops were presented at the demonstration site. Master classes were held: methods of phytosanitary monitoring of vegetable agrocenoses and visual diagnostics of mineral nutrition of plants. In the modernized Laboratory of Biotechnology of the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing, a master class “In Vitro Methods of Plant Propagation” was held.
