Field Day "Scientific developments of NAAS institutions in the breeding of late crops"

On September 4, 2025, the institute's employees took part in the Field Day "Scientific developments of NAAS institutions in the breeding of late crops", which was held at the Exhibition and Innovation Center of NAAS (DPDG "Salyvonkivske" IBKCB).

The event was opened by the Vice President of NAAS, Roik M.V., who welcomed the participants and outlined the main tasks of NAAS breeding institutions in modern conditions.

At the Field Day, a review of demonstration crops was held with a presentation by NAAS institutions (State Institute of Grain Crops, V.Ya. Yuryev Institute of Plant Growing, Breeding and Genetic Institute-NCNS, Institute of Forage Crops and Agriculture of Podillia, Institute of Bioenergy Crops and Sugar Beet) of breeding developments of late spring crops: corn, sorghum, soybeans, sugar beets, sunflower and bioenergy crops.

Deputy Director for Scientific Work Kolomatska V.P. and Head of the Laboratory of Corn Breeding and Seed Production Ponurenko S.G. presented the latest hybrids of corn and sunflower bred by the Institute of Breeding and Seed Production of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, which belong to various areas of use and are characterized by high potential for productivity and quality, as well as resistance to adverse biotic and abiotic environmental factors.

During the event, the participants got acquainted with the achievements of their colleagues and evaluated their own breeding developments, discussed the problems of climate change and relevant areas of further work.
