FIELD DAY “INNOVATIVE ACHIEVEMENTS – SPIKED CEREALS 2025”

On June 12, 2025, the Acting Director of the Institute, Oleh Yuriiovych Leonov, took part in the Field Day “Innovative Achievements – Spiked Cereals 2025”, which was held at the State Institution “Institute of Grain Crops of NAAS”.

The event was attended by representatives of regional and district military administrations, directors of NAAS institutions, representatives of the State Institution “Institute of Soil Protection of Ukraine”, the State Enterprise “State Center for Certification and Expertise of Agricultural Products”, private companies – manufacturers and distributors of agricultural products.

Scientists from breeding centers presented their breeding developments in winter wheat, barley and oat, which number about 100 cultivars.

Leonov O.Yu. presented novel cultivars of the Yuriev Plant Production Institute (YPPI) of NAAS. The YPPI’s cereal cultivars are competitive breeding innovations. They are intensive or semi-intensive, boast high productivity and quality potentials, and are resistant to adverse biotic and abiotic environmental factors.

The participation of breeders in the Field Day allowed them to evaluate their own developments in comparison with other research programs, meet with colleagues, and lively communicate with scientists and producers. The event was filled with meaningful scientific talks, exchange of ideas, and observations.
