"Sampo 2010" Plot Combine Harvester

On June 13, 2026, the Yuriev Plant Production Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine received a "Sampo 2010" plot combine harvester, purchased with funding from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine under a state research grant contract awarded to state scientific institutions classified in Group A based on national state attestation in the "Agricultural and Veterinary" scientific field.

Under the contract with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for the Institute's research project "Comprehensive Scientific Investigation of Crop Resistance Mechanisms to Biotic, Abiotic, and Anthropogenic Stresses, Utilization of Genetic Diversity, and Development of Stress-Tolerant Cultivars and Hybrids," a dedicated capital expenditure budget was allocated for long-term equipment acquisition, which enabled the purchase of the "Sampo 2010" plot combine.

Acquiring modern, small-scale harvesting machinery is vital for the Yuriev Plant Production Institute of NAAS—whose primary activities encompass research in crop breeding, seed production, plant genetic resources, crop management, and cultivar testing—to ensure high-precision execution of field trials and guarantee the accuracy and reliability of experimental data.

As of today, the Institute is the originator of 172 cultivars and hybrids listed in the State Register of Plant Varieties Suitable for Dissemination in Ukraine for 2026, including winter wheat, winter rye, winter triticale, spring wheat, spring barley, spring triticale, pea, soybean, millet, maize, and sunflower, annually providing Ukrainian farmers with high-quality seeds of its own selection.
